Kraken Share ICX to SODA Migration Timeline
On August 7 at 2pm UTC, Kraken pauses ICX trading and funding. Migration and SODA listing progresses August 10 through 14.
“Time keeps ticking and we are getting ever-closer to the final phase of transitioning from the ICON Network, into the SODAX execution system. This is the culmination of a lot of hard work and sleepless nights across our team and we look forward to welcoming you all along with your own piece of the infrastructure, in SODA. Whether your ICX sits on an exchange or in your own wallet, we’ve made sure to give you a clear way through to participate in the exciting next step for the project.”
If you have held ICX since the ICON Network days, here is the update. Kraken has confirmed its schedule for migrating ICX to SODA, its ERC-20 successor on the Sonic network.
On August 7 at 2pm UTC, Kraken pauses ICX trading and funding, deposits and withdrawals included. This pause will give the exchange a clean, final snapshot of balances before it converts them. So if you want to make the deadline and migrate with Kraken, be sure to deposit your ICX before August 7.
The migration runs August 10 through 14, converting ICX to SODA at a 1:1 rate. Once it is done, SODA trading opens on Kraken and ICX is delisted for good.
If your ICX is on Kraken, you do not need to do anything. The conversion happens automatically, and your account will show the new SODA balance once trading resumes. Kraken has its own account-specific guidance if you want the exchange-side detail: support.kraken.com/articles/icon-migration.
Self-custody?
If you hold ICX in your own wallet, Kraken’s dates don’t apply to you (unless you want to deposit there ahead of the August 7 funding pause). You can migrate through SODA Exchange today, well ahead of the ICON Network’s shutdown at the end of 2026.
To migrate ICX you hold in personal balances, you can connect your wallet to SODA Exchange at the link below. A couple of things worth knowing before you do:
You’ll need a small balance of S on the Sonic network to cover gas for the transaction.
Two-way migration between ICX and SODA is available now, but that closes on September 30, 2026. After that date, migration only runs one way: ICX to SODA.
The ICON network itself is scheduled to shut down at the end of 2026, which puts the final deadline for migrating at December 31, 2026.
