“SODAX is infrastructure for modern money. A system where any asset, on any network, is reachable by anyone. If you have been following SODAX, you know the vision is bigger than only DeFi-native tokens. It was about what financial infrastructure looks like when networks stop being silos and you can move, lend, and access any kind of value through intents, without routing through centralized intermediaries.

This week, that vision expands as RWAs join the SODAX SDK.

Tokenized Stocks in the SODAX SDK

Eight Stock RWAs are now live in the SODAX SDK: CRCLx, TSLAx, SPYx, NVDAx, QQQx, MSTRx, COINx, and GOOGLx. Each is one of xStocks tokenized representations of publicly traded equities, held natively on Solana. All of which are now tradable, across blockchain networks, from any of SODAX’s 19 integrated networks across Bitcoin, EVM (Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base etc.), Solana, Sui, Stellar, and many more.

The execution works like this: a user on any network states what they want, “I want to swap SUI for TSLAx”, and SODAX’s Solver handles the rest. The Solver sources liquidity, coordinates the cross-network execution, and settles the xStock to the users Solana address.

Bound Exchange is the first live integration, with all eight assets available to their users from today.

Tokenized stocks are one category in the much larger RWA space of commodities, bonds, real estate, tokenized gold and more. The infrastructure SODAX is building is not designed for one asset class, but to handle execution across all available assets. Today’s release is the beginning of what that looks like inside the SDK.

The final shutdown schedule for the ICON Network is now published and migration from ICX to SODA will conclude on December 31, 2026.

Three dates matter:

• May 2026: Validator governance voting has concluded and fixed the date to formally retire the ICON Network as December 31, 2026.

• September 30, 2026: Two-way migration ends. From this point, only ICX → SODA migrations are supported through the SODA Exchange.

• December 31, 2026: Final migration deadline. The ICON Network is permanently halted. A read-only archive remains for transaction lookups.

What we want holders, validators and integrators to understand is that this is not a wind-down of the mission. It is the completion of a transition we have been on since rebranding last year. The SODAX execution system is live, coordinating actions across blockchain networks (today across 18 networks, with named integrations live including Bound, Balanced, Hana Wallet, Houdini Swap, Amped Finance, Veru Fi and Spoon Finance building on top, and over $10M of volume in the last 30 days).

Maintaining a Layer 1 that the work has already moved past would fragment focus and capital. Closing it concentrates both on what is actually being used.

For every validator, builder, holder and partner who participated on ICON across the years: thank you. The work you stewarded is the foundation of what SODAX is shipping now.

Bring Native Bitcoin to Your App

For most of DeFi’s life, builders trying to put Bitcoin into their products have had to choose between two unhappy paths. Wrap the asset and accept a custodian. Or route every flow through a centralized exchange and add a ten-minute round trip to the user experience.

This week, that changes for every application built on SODAX.

Native BTC is now available in the SODAX SDK. Real Bitcoin on the Bitcoin network on one side. Real assets across blockchain networks on each of the 18 networks SODAX integrates with, on the other. No wrapper. No bridge. No CEX hop in between.

The integration surface has not changed. The same single SDK call that addresses an existing network in our system, now addresses native Bitcoin. The infrastructure that makes the BTC side feel native is delivered through a partnership with Bound, whose work on Bitcoin-side settlement infrastructure made it possible to treat Bitcoin transactions as final once submitted to settle through our Solver.

SDK V2 is live for partners today.

For anyone following along, this has been a major engineering effort: a top-to-bottom refactor of the SODAX SDK around a single thesis, that the population of teams shipping cross-network DeFi products is set to expand, and the SDK that wins is the one those teams (and their tools) can use at scale.

Three things are different in V2.

• Stability: The codebase has been rebuilt to be cleaner, with comprehensive bug fixes and performance optimizations so partners spend less time fighting the tech and more time building.

• Less code to integrate: The integration path for a wallet, DEX, money market, or yield product is substantially shorter than. V2 was rewritten with the rule: a developer should be able to read the entry points and understand what’s available without trawling the docs.

• Built for agents (and humans): This is the piece we think will matter most over the coming months. V2 is structured so that agents like Claude, Cursor, and the rest can consume the SDK quickly, and produce working integrations into front-ends or agent-driven workflows.

The number of developers who can hand-write a cross-network integration is a small pool. The number of teams who can ask Claude Code or Cursor to wire one up is much larger. And we’re positioned for the number of agents that will themselves be users of the protocol (running cross-network exchanges, managing money market positions), to grow fast.

DeFi’s next wave of users won’t be just people. V2 is prepared to support that future.

If there was a year where the agentic commerce track became the centre of gravity at a crypto conference, this is it. Visa shipped a CLI for AI agents this month. Circle’s running Nanopayments on testnet for sub-cent USDC payments. The agentic payment rails are being built.

We’ve been building the developer side for months. The SODAX MCP server is live to give an agent-consumable route into building cross-network applications, and routing trade through the SODAX SDK. Meanwhile, our partners at Amped Finance already have agents running transaction through the SDK in production. There is currently no deadline set for the migration to SODA, however, the migration of bnusd loans from Balanced v1 to the new SODAX infrastructure has a hard deadline of May 10, 2026.

So you should take action now if you hold a loan.

Balanced bnusd loans: Migrate by May 10

If you opened a bnusd loan on Balanced, this applies to you.

What’s happening. Balanced v2 is live on SODAX infrastructure. The v1 loan book is being wound down. To keep your position active on the new infrastructure, you need to move it across manually.

Why move now. Between now and May 10, 2026, borrowing bnusd on v2 is free, with no origination fees. You use that free borrowing to pay down your v1 loan in rotations if you haven’t got the liquidity at the moment to pay the whole position down at once.

After May 10:

• Origination fees return to v2 borrows.

• Positions still sitting on v1 carry liquidation risk as the old ICON-era infrastructure continues to wind down.

Migrate your self-custody ICX and earn yield staking SODA

If you hold your ICX in your own self-custody wallet, then you can already migrate today on SODA Exchange. SODAX Migrate exchanges your ICX for SODA at a strict 1:1 ratio in a single flow to the Sonic network.

Kraken joins the SODA Migration

As of yesterday, Kraken has announced the addition of SODA to its listing roadmap, signaling support for the migration.

If you hold your ICX on a centralized exchange, be aware that each one is on its own timeline for supporting the ICX → SODA migration and will announce accordingly. If your exchange of choice supports the migration then rest assured that the process will be handled for you automatically.

What to do:

1. Log in to any exchange where you hold ICX. Check the announcements page for any notice about ICX delisting, SODA crediting, or migration windows.

2. Follow each exchange’s social channels. Exchange listing pages and Twitter accounts are usually where these windows are published.

3. If your exchange hasn’t announced yet, consider self-custody. Moving ICX to a wallet you control and migrating via SODAX Migrate puts you on the same 1:1 path without waiting for an exchange’s timeline.

We’ll amplify specific exchange announcements in the future.

Migration checklist for this week

[ ] Open Balanced v1 and check if you still have a bnUSD loan. If yes, bookmark docs.balanced.network/move-loan and start the rotation.

[ ] Check every self-custody wallet for leftover ICX. If found, plan a migration through SODAX Migrate, Making sure you have a small amount of S token (Sonic gas) in your destination address.

[ ] Check every centralized exchange where you hold ICX. Await an announcement if their support is not yet announced, or withdraw to a wallet for self-migration as each situation requires.

“In the early days, our focus on Layer 1 and smart contract stability led many projects to see us as competitors, despite our continuous advocacy for interoperability. Now that our key components are established, we can demonstrate our complementary value to numerous blockchain networks. As a result, we are receiving grants and forming partnerships, fundamentally shifting perceptions about us.

I cannot believe it’s been three months since we commenced the Balanced enshrinement program and we are already seeing results. Liquidity is accumulating, transactions are growing, and at some point we are going to see exponential growth. It’s not going to happen overnight, of course. ”

In May we encountered some unexpected stability issues, which were swiftly resolved, paving the path for the launch of Avalanche frontend. “This month has been about consolidating our objectives outlined in the Balanced enshrinement proposal. Although we are still in the early stages of its implementation, the results are highly promising. Balanced’s revenue has exploded to nearly 2.5 times the revenue in the last 30 days compared to the previous 30 days. Balanced’s fee burn has accounted for over 30k ICX burned, and this is just in the last 30 days. I only expect Balanced’s revenue to continue to trend upwards as ICON deepens its Network Owned Liquidity.

Some in the community are hazy when it comes to ICON’s future vision. In the short term, our strategic focus is on positioning Balanced as one of the leading cross-chain decentralized exchanges in the industry. Our cross-chain infrastructure and marketing efforts are strategically aligned to achieve this vision.”

“Economic enshrinement is something quite unique to ICON. Most do not have the opportunity to do what we are doing as there are very high barriers to entry to put such a structure in place. Achieving this requires a proven Layer 1 blockchain with a proven governance framework, a liquid asset like $ICX that's listed on major exchanges, active traders, and a robust cross-chain infrastructure.
